Anxiety For Dogs

Hi there, its Arlo here from the CanaryStore.com Today i'd like to share with you something thats way to often overlooked or ignored by canary owners out there... ===================================================== Underestimating the Importance of Cage Placement... ===================================================== While canaries are, admittedly, beautiful creatures, you should never make the 'cruel' mistake of buying them purely in the light of their aEoedecorativeaE purposes. You can't just add a canary to your mantlepiece and treat them like mere pieces of furniture... Canaries are living, breathing creatures; creatures that are highly susceptible to environmental changes and stress factors... ===================================================== What NOT to Do... ===================================================== One newbie canary owner spent a great deal of her time cooking, baking and pursuing her favorite culinary hobbies in the kitchen. Since her canary was so gorgeous, and sang so sweetly, she rightly wanted him to spend the majority of his time in her company. She wasn't a total novice, so she knew that flour and other finely powdered ingredients could make breathing a painful chore for canaries. So, to avoid any problems (so she thought), she perched her canary's cage on top her refrigerator... That simple mistake sent her on a quest for an avian vet in the far-removed rural area she lived in and left her with a canary that only just barely survived the ordeal. She could have saved herself a lot of worry, money and frustration if she'd only educated herself a little in canary keeping with a simple book or step-by-step guide she'd have known that vibrations from even a refrigerator can weaken a canary to the point of severe illness and even death. But vibrations aren't the only aEoehousehold enemyaE you should protect your canary against. There are other, more ordinary (and much more difficult to aEoepreventaE) hazards like drafts and breezes, which are equally as dangerous to your bird... Blaring televisions and radios can also severely stress out your canary, so you should be a bit more careful and deliberate before you crank up the volume of the TV or stereo system. On the flip side however... you CAN have a EXTREMELY POSITIVE impact on the health and well being of your new canary by regularly exposing your canary to canary songbird recordings and other specialty CDs that will make your bird more comfortable and encourage them to aEoepracticeaE their songs. With my 'Canary Keeping for Beginners' ALL-New guide im including a Singing Birds Audio Set as an 'ethical bribe' for the next few orders... Packed with hours of tropical bird songs you'll watch in amazement as your birds reply to the recorded chirping canary songs and stay happy and entertained throughout the day... You can check it out here: http://www.CanaryStore.com While all canaries need a little exposure to direct sunlight (for nutritional and health reasons), you should never position your canary cage in full, direct sun for any length of time. If you keep your canary(s) indoors, and you have a few night-owls in the house, you'll want to cover your canary's cage with a black cloth once the sun goes down (and remove it promptly when to sun comes up) to keep the bird on their natural, seasonal cycles of molting, breeding, etc... Many first time owners think that it's the temperature of the home that induces these cycles, and neglect total hours of sunlight, and aE" as a result aE" their canary! ====================================================

6 Steps to Finding the Optimal Cage Placement for Your Pet Canary... ===================================================

When you decide where you'll ultimately place your canary's cage, keep the following 6 pointers in mind:

1: Aim for a site that's eye level, roughly six feet off of the ground

2: Placing your canary's cage too low (especially on the ground) can cause a great deal of anxiety for your bird. This is because in the wild, your canary's natural enemy would be predatory birds, which attack from above. Ground placement leaves them prone to danger and will aEoestress outaE your canary.

3: If you mistakenly place your canary's cage too high, you'll effectively cut them off from humans, making it that much harder to successfully tame your canary or get the used to people.

4: Try to hang the cage, or set it up on a table, that is next to a wall, as having one section of the cage aEoewalledaE off will offer additional safety and protection, keeping your bird calm and secure.

5: If you'll be keeping your cage outdoors, remember that wire cages are HIGHLY reflective. Hang it up on a tree or other area that is shaded from direct sunlight and safely away from any potential predators.

6: Finally, it's worth mentioning that if you're going to allow your canary to fly freely throughout the house, you'll need to aEoecanary-proofaE practically every single room (and window). Just as introducing a toddler to your home will quickly expose your danger zones, so too will throwing open the entry to your canary's cage. Turn off ceiling fans, make sure that all windows are closed (or at least, that the screens are closed and intact), turn off all stove-top burners, minimize the threats of other household pets (think: cat's claws, dogs jaws...) and don't even THINK about using any non-stick cookware! Remember, your canary isn't just some goldfish or Beta Fish, a pet that's aEoehere today and gone tomorrow.aE When properly loved and cared for, your new canary can live to be into their twenties. But they'll never be able to do it without YOUR help! Wishing you all the success and happiness with your canaries! Arlo Demille The Canary Care Coach http://www.CanaryStore.com
